THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN

PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY

Prince Edward County is an island (yes, it’s an island) with bountiful agriculture, significant

viticulture thanks to the clay & limestone loam that makes the conditions similar to Bordeaux for growing vines and winemaking, and panoramic views of Lake Ontario on all sides.  It’s also blessed with spectacular sunsets, a thriving artists’ community, and a culinary scene that is attracting some of the best in the country.

The island is home to three Provincial Parks - Sandbanks, North Beach and Lake on the Mountain.  The Millennium Trail stretches from Wellington to Picton and is great for cycling and sunset strolls (wear bug spray in summer).  Several wineries can be accessed by that path.

As special as The County is for visitors and guests, it is also home to many full time residents, many who have lived and worked the land for generations.  It is also the Indigenous lands of the Mississauga and Cayuga First Nations who were displaced during British colonization in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The "locals", both old and new, cherish their island home, and ask that you treat the place and its people with consideration and respect.

This includes being mindful of social distancing, wearing masks in indoors, and washing or sanitizing your hands before every interaction.

There are many wonderful offerings in PEC that are proceeding within the COVID-19 guidelines.  For more information visit The County's official tourism page and the https://supportlocalpec.ca business directory.
